Life below water

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

Give a fish everything it needs to survive and thrive.

I got my Grandma to film this piece. Big up, Maureen. Shipped a crappy £10 ukulele from a certain tax avoiding company I won’t name right now. It took a while for me to teach her how to use her camera, how to get the right shot and then how to press record etc. Against all odds she did it, only asking if I was joking when I asked her to give her fish the shitty £10 ukulele, providing her fish everything they need to survive and thrive. We need music to thrive. We need art to thrive. Yet here we are, living in a country that sees the government dealing out cut after cut to the arts and piece by piece removing it from the curriculum. When was the last time you saw your fish pick up their ukulele and blast out a cheeky rendition of ‘Wonderwall’? When was the last time you saw your turtle whack out some Judith Weir? I wonder how many households throughout the UK do not have access to instruments for their aquatic pets, how many goldfish will have to grow up without the chance to perform their favourite Carly Rae Jepson song or their favourite Jennifer Walshe piece all because of the heartless Tory bastards in charge.
